Nestlé launches Youth Culinary Talent (YOCUTA) programme

Nestlé launches Youth Culinary Talent (YOCUTA) programme

Nestlé Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NTTL) is proud to share that Nestlé Professional in partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (TTHTI) launched the Youth Culinary Talent (YOUCTA) programme on the 16th September 2015 at the TTHTI, Chaguramas. The YOUCTA programme will take 5 aspiring chefs through an apprenticeship programme that will expose them to the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment, our Nutrition, Health and Wellness approach and large scale food preparation solutions and other culinary activities that is the foundation of Nestlé Professional.

At the event, Dr. Patricia Butcher, Executive Director, TTHTI and Kristin Ramlogan, Human Resource Manager, NTTL, signed an MOU that speaks to fostering closer relationships with the food and beverage industries to create new specialized academic and training programmes and to develop placement programmes such as these for apprentices.

As an Apprentice, they will be guided closely by culinary experts through periods of practical work experience at Nestlé and practical education at TTHTI. At the end of the apprenticeship, a recognized certification degree will be issued and students will demonstrate their learning over the 3 months.
