Nestlé’s new global strategy sharpens the company’s focus on the specific product categories of nutrition, food, coffee, pet care, and confectionary. In line with this approach, Nestlé has commenced a strategic review of its operations and product portfolio in Trinidad and Tobago.
At this point, no final decisions have been made. Nestlé is in the initial, exploratory, stages of its strategic review of the operating model for its dairy and juices business, including the consideration of a potential sale of that business. A sale process is typically completed within 9 to 12 months.
In parallel, Nestlé is assessing third-party partnership options for its distribution operations in Trinidad, which currently serve both local and regional export markets.
Nestlé will provide clear communication as and when decisions are made and is committed to transparency with all stakeholders.
During this exploration phase, Nestlé’s objective is to preserve jobs, to protect well-known local brands and to support the continuity of the value chain as far as possible.
Nestlé remains committed to a strong presence in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean and will ensure that Nestlé products continue to be widely available, meeting the needs of consumers and contributing to the region for the long term.
