Prime Minister, Dr. The Honourable Keith Rowley thanks Nestlé Trinidad and Tobago Limited for commitment to business continuity

Prime Minister, Dr. The Honourable Keith Rowley and Minister of Trade and Industry,  Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon, accompanied by Advisor to the Prime Minister on Agriculture, Dr. John Alleyne and other representatives from the Office of the Prime Minister as well as the Ministry of Trade and Industry visited Nestlé Trinidad and Tobago Limited on May 27, 2020. Nestlé Trinidad and Tobago Limited was one of four manufacturing companies to host the Honourable Prime Minister as he personally met with Senior Leadership to thank them for ensuring business continuity during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In a brief overview, Market Head of Nestlé Anglo-Dutch Caribbean, Mr. Patricio Torres congratulated and recognized the efforts of the Honourable Prime Minister and his government in managing the COVID-19 crisis since its emergence in the Caribbean, further explaining,

“Those measures are the platform for what we have been doing at Nestlé- immediately aligning our plans with those of the government, in an effort to keep our employees safe, while continuing with our operations. In order to remain operating for 106 years in a country, we must have a solid model where we support and add value to the society”

In  response, the Honourable Prime Minister acknowledged Mr. Torres’ sentiments and also thanked Nestlé Trinidad and Tobago for adhering to the health and safety guidelines provided by the Government, stating,

“When we embarked on the approach that we took as a nation it was because we thought we could call on the population to respond in the way that you have done and you have done so magnificently. Thank you very much for being guided and thank you very much for allowing your staff the opportunity to continue working.”

The visiting delegation was then treated to a tour of the Nestlé Factory facilities, where they were able to view some of our products, proudly manufactured in Trinidad and Tobago as well as some of our most recent infrastructural investments.

To end the visit, Nestlé Trinidad and Tobago proudly displayed and offered for tasting, some of our most recent product innovations such as Nestlé Nutri-GO® nutritional energy shake, ORCHARD Fruit & Veggie blends, NESTLÉ Beet Root Flavoured Milk Drink as well as NESTLÉ Creamy Vanilla Shake and Milk Chocolate Shake, all manufactured locally at the Valsayn Factory.
