Nestlé Jamaica wins big at the JCC Awards

Nestlé Jamaica Limited, fresh from receiving its Strategic Virtuous Circle Award has done it again with local recognition from the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC). The company walked away with the 2017 Best Company of the Year (Large category) award at the Chamber’s 36th Annual Awards Ceremony at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.

Nestlé Jamaica copped the award over category peer, local financial institution First Global Bank. The unique winning points for the company were the Nestlé Needs YOUth initiative and its Zero Waste to Landfill as well as the suite of environmental programmes at its South Street Corporate Office that has featured heavily in the Jamaican business headlines recently.

The JCC award is a prestigious recognition of top performing companies, individuals and organisations who have performed exceptionally in their industry, and have contributed to the continued growth of the Jamaican economy. The award criteria stipulates selection of outstanding member company’s fulfilling the highest levels of sector performance and best practices in the areas of corporate leadership, product and service quality, human resource development, marketing innovation, corporate citizenship and sustained growth. Administratively, the awards are divided into four (4) categories Best of Chamber extra large, large, medium, and small. The theme of this year’s awards gala 'People, Purpose & Passion’.

 
The Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) is one of the oldest Business Associations in this hemisphere. With over 200 years of experience as an advocate for small to large scale businesses, the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce has been instrumental in the passing of legislation and regulations in the fields of labour relations, banking, income tax utilities regulation, foreign exchange liberalization, import/export and company law. Some of its objectives include helping businesses to prosper and grow, encouraging orderly expansion and the development of all segments of the society and contributing to the overall economic stability of the society.
