Laurent Freixe, Nestlé CEO for the Americas, is named International Youth Ambassador by the OIJ

  • The honorary ambassadorship is granted in recognition of his commitment and trajectory in favor of the development of young people through the promotion of initiatives for employability, entrepreneurship and social inclusion.
  • The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ibero-American and G20 governments, international organizations, the private sector, academia and civil society.

Madrid May 23, 2018 - Laurent Freixe, CEO of Nestlé for the Americas, was recognized as International Youth Ambassador in the framework of the "International Alliance of Youth Cooperation" gala, organized by the International Youth Organization for Ibero-America (OIJ).

The honorary title of International Youth Ambassador is a distinction made by the OIJ to persons who, by their personal merits, their identification with causes related to youth and their social commitment, have promoted the development of young people.

Under the leadership of Laurent Freixe, Nestlé launched global initiatives in favor of youth such as Nestlé Needs YOUth and the strategic alliance of the private sector called All for YOUth, positioning Nestlé as a leader and mobilizing agent in favor of the economic and social development of youth.

Since 2013, Nestlé has supported hundreds of thousands of young people in their preparation to enter the labor market, hiring and training to date more than 40,000 young people worldwide, and with the goal of reaching a total of 115,000 by 2020.

"The leaders of tomorrow need our guidance, our support, and above all they need opportunities and platforms where their voice can be heard and their ideas can be realized. I firmly believe that we must do everything in our power to help them," said Freixe.
